Kitt welcomes latest reduction in Irish inflation rate

Government chief whip Tom Kitt has welcomed new CSO figures showing that Ireland's inflation rate in 2004 was at its lowest level in five years.

The Central Statistics Office said average prices increased by 2.2% during the year, compared to a 3.5% increase in 2003.
