ISEQ drops, financials down
It was a fairly poor morning for the ISEQ, which fell 24.23 points to 6527.57.
Ormonde Mining announced that it had bought back 50% of a gold-mining interest in Spain from MinMet, and managed to haul itself up 1c (6.2%) to €0.14. MinMet was unchanged at €0.04.
The financials were all down. Irish Life and Permanent dropped 25c (1.7%) to €14.45.
Anglo Irish Bank lost 17c to stand at €19.23 mid-morning. AIB was down 10c at €15.40.
Bank of Ireland, the morning’s busiest share, was down 5c at €12.15. Bank of Ireland Life today announced an increase of 21% in new business sales for 2004.
Kerry Group dropped 20c (1.1%) to €18.10.
Elan was once again the star performer this morning, gaining 21c to €22.00.
Building materials company CRH lost 5c to €20.80, while Ryanair, which announced new sale offers today, was down 1c at €5.80.
