Oil prices hold firm

Oil prices held near six-week highs today after a 6% jump yesterday.

US light crude was up four cents at $48.08 a barrel, holding close to a six-week peak of $48.40, and back within $8 of record highs hit in late October. London's Brent crude rose a cent to $45.22 a barrel.
