Britain gets pre-Christmas jobs boost

The British government was given a pre-Christmas boost on the jobs front today, when new figures showed that unemployment has fallen again, fewer people are claiming Job Seekers’ Allowance and the number of men and women in work has reached another record.

But the number of people not looking for a job increased again, and wage growth rose, which took the shine off the figures.
