The Irish Bank Officials Association (IBOA) has welcomed the purchase of National Irish Bank and the Belfast-based Northern Bank by Denmark's largest financial institution.
Danske Bank confirmed this morning that it had agreed to buy the two Irish companies from National Australia Bank in a deal worth almost €1.4bn.
