One in three find boss 'unbearable'

One third of Irish workers have described their relationship with their boss as "almost unbearable", whilst another third are less than satisfied with their boss, according to a new survey.

The survey by IrishJobs.ie covered 350 respondents.

Only 15% said they had an excellent relationship with their boss, while 21% said the relationship was pretty good most of the time.

The research shows 86% of those surveyed think it is very important to have a good manager.

When employees were asked what they disliked most about their boss, the majority of respondents cited lack of support and distrust.

Of those who described their relationship with their boss as very bad, 15% were working in secretarial jobs, 15% in IT and 12% in production.

The research also shows that personality clashes or general dissatisfaction with management is the single biggest reason for people quitting their jobs.

40% of the responses to the poll on IrishJobs.ie were from men, while 60% were from women.
