Harney dismisses calls for second home property tax

The Tánaiste Mary Harney has dismissed calls by the International Monetary Fund to introduce a property tax on second homes in this country.

The recommendation was made yesterday in a report by the IMF to ensure a soft landing for the economy when the boom in property ends.
