Calls blocked to prevent 'modem hijacking'

Telephone calls from Ireland to 13 countries are being blocked from this morning as part of efforts to crack down on an Internet fraud scam known as "modem-hijacking".

The countries in question are mainly small island nations in the south Pacific.
