Belfast's Waterfront Hall has reached the AIPC Apex Award final for 'World’s Best Congress Centre.'

The Waterfront Hall is one of sixteen finalists in this year’s competition, administered by the International Association of Congress Centres (AIPC), the leading professional body for congress centre management and executives world-wide.

The Apex Award is judged on congress facilities, project management, catering and technical capabilities.

Each entrant is rated by clients of the centres.

AIPC President, Barbara Maple, said: "As always, this competition is based entirely on client evaluations, which means that the results are a true measure of quality performance and help us recognize excellence in our industry."

The Apex Award winner will be announced on August 4 at this year’s AIPC Annual Conference in Edinburgh.

The Waterfront Hall has been officially placed as one of the top seven conference centres in the world for three years in succession at the AIPC Apex Award finals.

The venue achieved World’s Best Congress Centre Worldwide Runner-Up status at the 2002 Apex Awards and followed this accolade with a very creditable sixth placing at last year’s Awards, achieving an even higher score than the previous year.
