The ISEQ index of shares got off to a torrid start today falling to 5,412.41 just after 11.30am having lost 23.61 with the financials and Elan losing ground.
Allied Irish Bank, Anglo Irish Bank and Bank of Ireland were all down. AIB was down 6c at €12,37, Anglo Irish shed 10c to €12.86, while Bank of Ireland was down 10c to €10.70.
