An international energy watchdog has warned that the ESB will continue to dominate the Irish electricity market for years to come, in spite of industry reforms.

The International Energy Agency, an offshoot of the Paris-based OECD, said that it is unlikely that the ESB's influence on prices would diminish in the event of a break-up of the company.
