A study by the financial services regulator has reportedly found that Irish financial institutions have increased their margins on lending products despite falling interest rates.

Reports this morning said the IFSRA study had highlighted increasing margins on variable rate mortgages since May 2001 and even more dramatic increases in margins for credit cards, overdrafts and loans over a five-and-a-half-year period.
