Employers have been advised to review the way they handle compensation claims from staff following the establishment of a Personal Injuries Assessment Board.

From last month, all claims relating to workplace injuries or accidents must be first submitted to the board.

If either party is unhappy with the PIAB’s assessment, the case can be taken to the courts.
