Tourist numbers climb 8.4%

Figures for tourism and travel from the Central Statistics Office show the number of overseas visitors to Ireland climbing 8.4% in 2004.

The CSO Tourism and Travel survey for the first quarter of 2004 shows the number of overseas visitors to Ireland increased by 8.4% on the same period in 2003, with tourism earnings up 5%.
