Oil giant to cut up to 2,800 jobs

Oil giant Shell is planning to axe up to 2,800 IT jobs, the group said tonight.

Shell said it intends to cut between 1,900 and 2,800 jobs from the 9,300-strong workforce in its technology division by the end of 2006.
