Consumer Awareness Board to be announced

The Tánaiste, Mary Harney, is due to announce details of a new consumer awareness board later today.

Ms Harney is due to announce the membership and terms of reference of the body, which is being established in response to perceived profiteering by Irish retailers.

The board will be tasked with investigating the quality of service and value for money provided by retailers, as well as monitoring the prices of everyday goods.
