Britain's trade gap rose to a record high in January as exports to the United States fell considerably.

The trade gap in goods and services rose to £5.6bn (€8.28bn)in January from a revised £4bn (€5.92bn) in the previous month compared with forecasts of £4.2bn. (€6.21bn), the office for National Statistics showed.
