BA expected to announce more job cuts
British newspapers have reported that a huge jobs cull will be part of British Airways' latest business programme to be implemented over the next two years.
BA is to write to staff this week with an outline of the cutbacks that could lead to around 4,000 jobs being axed and up to €436m in savings.
Business at BA was up earlier this month, with passenger traffic climbing by almost 5% in December due to new low fares.
According to analysts, additional security costs could jeopardise further recovery in BA's transatlantic business this year.
Just last week, the airline was forced to cancel flights to Washington due to increased security concerns.
