PR group's MD to take on Chair role

The MD of the public relations firm Weber Shandwick FCC, Ms Eileen Gleeson, has stepped down as managing director to take up the role of chairman.

Ms Gleeson, well know for being public relations advisor to the President, Mrs McAleese, is to allocate less of her time to clients of Weber Shandwick FCC.

Ms Mary Mc Carthy and Ms Siobhan Molloy have been appointed joint managing directors of the PR firm. Ms Gleeson and Ms McCarthy founded FCC in 1989 and the firm became part of Weber Shandwick in 2000.

Ms Gleeson is a director of First Active and is also press advisor to Esat entrepreneur Mr Denis O'Brien.
