FTSE maintains this week's momentum

The FTSE 100 Index maintained its momentum this morning as it looked to end the trading week on a high.

Positive updates from retailers helped the FTSE 100 Index add 14.5 points to stand at 4470.6 mid-morning, with a clutch of blue-chip shares netting gains of more than 3%.
