UK sales slow during RWC

UK retail sales increased at their lowest November rate for five years, partly as a result of England's win in the Rugby World Cup, according to the latest monthly survey from the British Retail Consortium.

UK retail sales increased at their lowest November rate for five years, partly as a result of England's win in the Rugby World Cup, according to the latest monthly survey from the British Retail Consortium.

The survey showed that like-for-like retail sales in November grew by 0.9% from the same month last year. In October, they increased 0.8%.

Meanwhile, the three-month trend rate of growth decreased from 1.9% in October to 1.5 % in November for like-for-like sales and from 4.8 % to 4.3% for total sales.
