UK sales slow during RWC
UK retail sales increased at their lowest November rate for five years, partly as a result of England's win in the Rugby World Cup, according to the latest monthly survey from the British Retail Consortium.
The survey showed that like-for-like retail sales in November grew by 0.9% from the same month last year. In October, they increased 0.8%.
Meanwhile, the three-month trend rate of growth decreased from 1.9% in October to 1.5 % in November for like-for-like sales and from 4.8 % to 4.3% for total sales.
