The Irish wing of aircraft maintenance specialist FLS Aerospace reported a loss of €4.3m, from January to September this year.

The Danish-headquartered group, announcing results yesterday, also said that an unofficial overtime ban was causing delays in completing contracts at it's Dublin Airport plant.

The Group said that worldwide, its aerospace arm lost €12m in the first nine months of the year, slightly up on its performance during the same period in 2002, as reported in the Irish Times today.

Earlier this month, 1,500 staff in FLS Aerospace in Dublin commenced an unofficial overtime ban in protest at the company's refusal to pay the 3% due under the national pay deal, Sustaining Progress.

Competition is Europe is tough and the group is making efforts to sell the Irish operation. This sell-off is part of a strategic plan announced last summer and is expected to go ahead by the end of 2004.
