Japan has threatened to impose retaliatory tariffs on US imports in response to America's decision to keep its duties on steel imports intact.

The move could cost the US $85.2m (€71.3m) – the estimated loss suffered by Japan steelmakers when the US imposed sanctions on steel imports in March this year.
