Tobacco firm hit with $25,000-a-day fine
A United States federal judge today fined a British tobacco company $25,000-a-day (€21,180) for failing to comply with an earlier court order.
Washington District Judge Gladys Kessler ordered BAT Investments Limited to pay the fine, beginning last Friday, until the company complies with an earlier order to turn over documents related to the Justice Department’s suit against the cigarette industry.
