FTSE in positive mood

The FTSE 100 Index made a positive start to trading despite overnight uncertainty on Wall Street ahead of key economic data.

After climbing above the important 4200 mark yesterday, the Footsie managed to drive 8.1 points higher to 4217.2 in lacklustre early trading.
