Boots plans €43m Irish expansion

Chemist Boots has said it plans to open 13 new stores in Ireland over the next three years in a €43m expansion plan.

Up to 300 new jobs will be created in the process as the British retailer increases its presence here from 30 outlets to 45. This latest expansion will see a majority of the new stores open in the Leinster region.

Boots currently employs almost 1500 staff in Ireland.

The retailer recently announced that it will open two new premises - one in Limerick city and one in Clonmel, Co Tipperary - before Christmas this year.
