Mary Robinson: Irish farmers must face up to Cancun reforms

Former president, Mary Robinson, is telling Irish farmers they'll have to face up to the reforms being sought at the World Trade talks, which are taking place in Mexico.

She has also agreed that the agricultural changes under discussion will hurt Irish farming.

Meanwhile, the Irish Farmers Association is accusing aid agencies, Trocaire and Oxfam, of trying to sabotage the Irish Government's negotiating position in the talks.

In response, Trocaire is saying this morning that the IFA claims are totally unfounded.

They say they've spoken to Government ministers in Cancun, but the IFA has refused to meet with them, or other Irish organisations.

They say they remain open for discussion with the farmers' organisation.
