Axa profits down but outlook is up

Axa said underlying earnings were up 6% to €1.1bn owing to operating performances that more than offset the negative impact of the Euro strengthening versus other currencies.

Axa said underlying earnings were up 6% to €1.1bn owing to operating performances that more than offset the negative impact of the Euro strengthening versus other currencies.

It also attributed this to the decline in Life & Savings and Asset Management's fees and commissions due to depreciation in financial markets.
