A major roll-out of broadband technology to rural Ireland will be announced later today.

A major roll-out of broadband technology to rural Ireland will be announced later today.

Six areas in the Border, Midland and Western region will benefit under the deal, while fifteen other towns around the country will be opened up for industry bids with a view to expanding the technology.

Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Eamonn O'Cuiv says both industry and ordinary people will benefit.
