UTV launches home broadband service

UTV Internet has launched a new residential broadband internet service that promises to shake up the Irish internet market.

Using high speed DSL technologies - Clicksilver - claims to offer access speeds up to10 times faster than traditional modems.

There is a one off set-up fee of €99 which includes a DSL modem with a set monthly charge of €47.50 enabling access 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The service will be available to residential customers on Monday June 16 with a service for the business community promised in the near future.

Commenting on the launch Scott Taunton, Managing Director, UTV Internet said :"Our DSL offering will make a real difference to residential Irish internet users."
