Irish Broadband has launched its Dublin.

Irish Broadband has launched in Dublin.

The company received initial funding from NTR in 2002 and recently received a further €2.5m from NTR, which is headed by CEO Jim Barry.

It will provide high shpped, always-on internet access services.

It is to charge €48.40 per month including VAT, for residential users, around the same as that charged by Esat BT and Eircom.

Business Services will cost €163.35 per month.

It hopes to get around 15,000 customers in its first year.

An investment of €3m has been made in Irish Broadband by NTR which now owns 76% of the company.

This is a diversification for NTR which up to now has concentrated on being a toll road operator and waste management company.
