Economist: productivity is key to Irish competitiveness

A leading economist has said that enhancing productivity rather than cutting costs is the key to Ireland's future economic competitiveness.

In an address to the American Chamber of Commerce, Bank of Ireland economist Dan McLaughlin, said a return to low wages would damage Ireland's growth.
