Aer Lingus scraps in-flight service to compete with Ryanair

Aer Lingus has announced it is scrapping its in-flight service on economy class flights to and from Britain and Europe in an effort to drive down fares.

The national carrier claims it will soon be on a par with its low fares rival, Ryanair, which charges its passengers for food and drink on board.
