Hewlett-Packard and Sun Microsystems are amongst the sponsors for the inaugural Desktop Linux summit to be hosted in San Diego in February.
The summit has received wide support from many of the industries big names and is aimed at developing a serious competitor for Microsoft in desktop computing for personal, business and academic use.
