Ryanair announces new flights from Franfurt Hahn
Low-cost carrier Ryanair today announced new flights from its German base.
The expansion at Frankfurt’s Hahn airport includes an increase in Stansted to Frankfurt flights from four a day to six.
The Irish airline will also be basing two more new Boeing 737-800 aircraft at Frankfurt, bringing the total to five.
From the beginning of December 2002, Ryanair will launch four new routes from Frankfurt – twice daily services to Rome and Barcelona (Gerona) and one-a-day services to Bologna (Forli) and Stockholm (Skavsta).
Announcing the details in Frankfurt today, Ryanair’s chief executive Michael O’Leary said: “This is another historic day in the development of Ryanair and low fares in Germany.
“While others including Lufthansa talk about setting up low fare airlines in Germany, Ryanair just gets on with the job.”
Meanwhile, British Airways announced today that its franchise carrier GB Airways would be starting a daily scheduled service between Gatwick airport and Girona from March 1, 2003.
