WorldCom to cut 2,000 jobs
Embattled telecoms group WorldCom heaped more pain on workers today after it announced plans to cut 2,000 jobs from a key regional division.
The company said it was too early to say where the jobs would go.
The cuts will take staff numbers at its Europe, Middle East and Africa division to around 6,000 but US-based WorldCom forecast the changes would help cash-flow at the regional business next year.
