Vodafone on track after ‘positive start’

Mobile phone giant Vodafone today said it had made a ‘‘positive start’’ to its current financial year despite a fall in the size of its UK customer base.

Chief executive Sir Christopher Gent said the average amount of money spent by each customer was on the up as well as the use of data services.
