The European Commission said the majority of the UK public is still opposed to the euro, while public opinion in Sweden and Denmark has moved in favour of the euro over the last 12 months.

The European Commission said the majority of the UK public is still opposed to the euro, while public opinion in Sweden and Denmark has moved in favour of the euro over the last 12 months.

In its latest Eurobarometer survey comprising results collated from March to May, the commission said 52% of UK citizens are opposed to the euro while only 31% now say they are in favour.
