The FTSE-100 Index was off 7.6 points at 5257.1 after an hour's trading, continuing the falls seen at the end of last week.

The FTSE-100 Index was off 7.6 points at 5257.1 after an hour's trading, continuing the falls seen at the end of last week.

Shares in British Airways were down 2% or 4¾p at 219p after it played down speculation that up to 10,000 staff could go - on top of 7,000 cuts already announced.
