Country must tighten belt -McCreevy

The Minister for Finance Charlie McCreevy says the country must temper its expectations in the wake of the terrorist attacks on the US and its economic consequences.

Mr McCreevy was responding to the pessimistic reports by the Central Bank and ESRI that Ireland is in for an economic battering over the next year.
