The Central Bank today warned of the effects a downturn in America would have on Ireland’s booming economy.

In its spring bulletin, the bank forecast that growth this year could slow from 9.75% to 7% because of fewer exports and said the figure might be further reduced in view of the ongoing impact of foot-and-mouth disease restrictions and other developments in the US.
