Finnish web phone has GPS navigation built-in
Finnish firm Benefon has unveiled what it says is the world's first personal navigation phone with global positioning.
Its Esc! Handset is among myriad hi-tech gadgets to be unveiled at the CeBIT technology fair in Hanover, Germany.
The phone, which will be available in Europe later this spring, uses maps and a 12-channel global positioning system (GPS) navigator to pinpoint its owner's location.
Users can also exchange location information with other users and services, making it, the firm says, the ideal gizmo for sailors and skiers.
