Taylor Woodrow looks to future after Bryant acquisition

Taylor Woodrow's plans for future expansion is set to come under the spotlight.

The building company's annual results will be dominated by the decision to buy Bryant earlier this year.

The deal created the UK's fifth largest housebuilder, with a turnover of approximately £845m.

Before this Taylor Woodrow was better known as a contractor.

Analysts predict pre-tax profits of between £143m and £164m, up from £122m the year before. The results are expected to be boosted by a strong performance from the UK, US and Canadian housing markets.

Earnings per share are expected to be 30.3p, compared to 20.7p in 1999.

Taylor Woodrow launched a last-minute bid for Bryant in January, two hours before its shareholders were scheduled to vote on a friendly merger with Beazer Homes.

Rival housebuilder Persimmon also tried to gatecrash the plans, saying it was also considering a bid for Beazer.

Taylor Woodrow says it still intends to use Bryant as the lead name for its UK housing operations.
