Just £34 spent per person on training: ISME
The Government is spending just £34 per person per year on training, according to a new report by business organisation ISME.
ISME's vice-chairman Daniel Hickey said much more investment is needed if Irish workers are to compete in the global economy.
"We want to improve the skills within the workplace and within the economy. We can't achieve the productivity growth needed to pay higher wages and keep up with technological advances if we don't train.
"That is why we're looking for these funds," said Mr Hickey.
