Tourism chiefs are co-ordinating a sales offensive to attract more visitors from China, with the operators of Ireland’s top tourism draws and travel companies, including the Guinness Storehouse and Titanic Belfast.

Tourism Ireland said its marketing trip early next month will sell Ireland to travel agents and tour operators in Beijing, Shanghai, and Shenzhen on the mainland, and in Hong Kong.

“Our sales mission is a key element of our promotional programme in China, to win a greater share of the four million Chinese visitors who travel to Europe each year,” said Tourism Ireland CEO Niall Gibbons.
