Gaming firm KamaGames to create 100 jobs
The roles at KamaGames will span a number of disciplines, including game design, marketing, finance, and business development.
KamaGames chief executive Danny Hammet said at yesterday’s announcement at Google’s European headquarters that half of the jobs will come on stream by the end of the year.
The announcement was made at the tech giant’s Dublin base to mark the simultaneous launch of KamaGames’s offerings, including the official Manchester United social casino, on the Google Play Store.
The company’s most popular games, such as Pokerist Texas Poker, are based on social versions of those found in casinos with users playing for fun but with no money at stake.
“We selected Ireland for our headquarters for a number reasons,” said Mr Hammet. “It’s pro-business environment, robust post-secondary educational system, availability of commercial real estate and, most importantly, the availability of a highly skilled workforce and a good quality of life for our employees.
“We’re excited about the growth opportunities ahead and we’re so pleased to be doing this in Ireland.”
The company’s new recruits will take part in Google’s European, Middle East, and Asian AppHub, an initiative by Google to create a centre of excellence for developers based at its Dublin headquarters.
The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise, and Innovation, Richard Bruton, heralded the positive impact of developing a technology cluster in Ireland.
