Manufacturing grows at fastest rate since 2011

Irish manufacturing is growing at a rate that hasn’t been seen since February of 2011 as the construction industry begins to recover, according to the latest Investec monthly Purchasing Managers’ Index.

The headline figure that captures the health of the Irish manufacturing sector rose for the third month in a row, posting a rise to 56.1 in April, up from 55.5 in the previous month

For the first time in recent years the panel of companies that Investec use to monitor the health of the manufacturing sector reported that the construction sector was placing new orders.
