Cyber security costs €600m

A new report by Grant Thornton has put the cost of cyber security to the Irish economy at more than €600m a year as the sophistication of attacks continues to rise.

The report concludes that all firms should now assume they will be attacked and be ready to detect and manage the attacks when they occur.

Head of Grant Thornton’s cyber security team, Mike Harris, said that businesses need to plan for cyber crime.
