The Central Bank of Ireland is planning to crack down on consumer protection measures including mortgage resolution and fees and charges, according to their planned inspections for 2014.

A Central Bank spokesperson said announcing the areas on which they are focusing will raise the standards of compliance.

“Themed reviews and inspections are an important part of the Central Bank’s supervisory framework allowing for review, assessment and mitigation of risks which have emerged in industry sectors and individual firms.”
