What can investors expect in the year ahead?

It’s been a long time coming, but the financial crisis that has been raging for six years finally looks to be loosening its grip, led by the recovery in the US and Britain, both of which are gathering real momentum. But, supported by stabilising conditions in Europe, China and Japan, economic activity is steadily improving right across the world.

What can investors expect in the year ahead?

Even here at home, there is growing optimism. Having endured the worst recession in the history of the State, we have successfully exited the bailout programme and the latest indictors suggest the outlook is improving.

Importantly, jobs are being created again and house prices are stabilising, even growing strongly in Dublin, which has resulted in the highest level of consumer confidence for over six years.
